Steps:

1. Open Google Chrome using: /Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --allow-running-insecure-content &
2. Browse to https://davidsimpson.me/labs/--allow-running-insecure-content/

If you see a green page below, --allow-running-insecure-content works:
