Kenn: There's no need to install the plugin if you don't want to use it. Just drop the GA javascript in the footer. Job done.

It allows you to show others a subset of Google Analytics reports without giving them access to your GA account. Only use it if you have that requirement.

Do you need the plugin? Can't you just put the js code in the footer?

François:I've been looking at writing a security plugin to fix up security on a per space basis. This could do a number of things such as enable SSL and restrict the view wiki markup option. It's all a bit of an experiment at the moment, so don't expect anything just yet :)

I'd also really like a simple admin option to enable/disable SSL on the login page too. I think this is sorely missing. Configuring SSL in Tomcat is reasonably easy, but enabling it in the application is surely more straightforward.

François: Removing the login page seems a pretty obvious thing to do. I'll roll it into the next release which should include support for Confluence 3.3 too -- which was release yesterday.

This is a really nice plugin, thanks for it! I have filled a feature request to exclude the login page from the views. Quick question, if it's just a matter of removing the tilde at the start of the ga:pagePath filter, can we fork the source and try it? Or am I overlooking other actions that would be filter out besides the login page?

(My last name is Nonnenmacher BTW, but your comment form doesn't allow me to write my full name, well, in full. Surely the bytes don't come cheap those days so one has to limit them—just kidding, no worries ;-)

Nice, but that won't prevent anyone to see the page source via the page Info menu. Or will it?

Ideally, Confluence could provide a way to lock source view on a specific page. Meanwhile, another workaround is to restrict access to the sensitive page, but include its result in another page with the include macro, so that people can view the rendered result, but not the original wiki markup.

Provided the web browsers that access your wiki can also access the internet, it should work just fine.

As a test, point your browser at http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js - if you can see the JavaScript or something is downloaded everything is good. If however, you cannot access this, you are in trouble. In which case, you could try installing urchin or an equivalent behind your firewall.
